Hashicorp on BastionLinux
Hashicorp have made some awesome and innovative tools for data centre operations and management for some time. They have certainly been leading proponents and exemplars of best practice for Golang-based tools in recent times. Needless to say, we are big supporters of such initiatives and have independently released most of the Hashicorp ecosystem built on our own extensive RPM/Golang stack.
We ship all kinds of Python, Ruby, Chef API wrappers and integrations with other best-of-breed systems we ship and support.
Vault
Vault secures, stores, and tightly controls access to tokens, passwords, certificates, API keys, and other secrets in modern computing. Vault handles leasing, key revocation, key rolling, and auditing. Through a unified API, users can access an encrypted Key/Value store and network encryption-as-a-service, or generate AWS IAM/STS credentials, SQL/NoSQL databases, X.509 certificates, SSH credentials, and more.
Consul
Consul is an excellent service discovery tool. It also does health-checks and failure detection which can be very useful when standing up stacks and getting to desired state configuration using other tools.
Terraform
Terraform allows you to treat infrastructure as code. It supports all of our favourite cloud platforms, Docker, and KVM/libvirt. It thus plays very well with our RPM/Linux stacks for provisioning. It also plugs into Chef for orchestration. With Terraform, you can preview infrastructure before applying and create reproduceable silos.
Nomad
Nomad is a lightweight cluster manager, a little like gearman, a little like Kubernetes, and a little like Mesos - all of which we also support. Clearly, this is a clouded space - but we have you covered!
