Open Source Sport

Hmmm - there is only vendor lock-in with sports gizmo's if you're lazy ...

Ok - so we're all inner-city hipsters and upgrading our fixie to something straight off the velodrome is a life ambition right? Once you've got into your sport of choice you then want to train like and emulate the pros too - right....

I'm currently investigating some application suites to do exactly this. Wger is a hosted solution to create, record, and track all sorts of training activities, sessions, nutrition and weight. This information can then be shared with coaches and trainers.

GoldenCheetah is a cycle-specific desktop application to ingest and analyse cadence, heart-rate and powermeter information from a plethora of popular devices.

More about this soon ....
