ACS NSW Open Source SIG

The NSW Branch of the Australian Computer Society's Open Source Special Interest Group is convened here.

Alan Milligan convenes the Open Source SIG every second Wednesday of every second month. Meetings are at the School of Mechanics, Level 3, 280 Pitt Street, Sydney.

The Open Source SIG focuses upon open source software targeted at the Enterprise and our audience is management and decision makers interested in evaluating and adopting leading open source applications in their organisation. The open source suites we discuss are free, have commercial support and maintenance available, and are mainstream in appeal.

We will also showcase corporate implementations proving lower TCO, great problem resolution turnarounds, and achievements with vendor, in-house and market resourcing to take firm control of the organisation's information technology.
